Friends of Manor Park Village has received a response from our MP, Stephen Timms, who requested information about two sites on Romford Road.
Vacant site at the junction of Manor Park Road and Romford Road
“The site at Manor Park Road and Romford Road is know as 559 to 663 Romford Road. The council received a planning application (ref:14/02403/LA3) to redevelop the subject site on 24th November 2014. The application sought full planning permission to build seven shared equity homes, comprising of two 2-bedroom maisonette and five 2-bedroom flats. The application was recently considered by the Council’s Local Development Committee on 19th January 2015 and the council formally granted planning permission on 20th January 2015.
The properties at 725 – 729 Romford Road
Council response: “With regards of the properties of 725 – 729 Romford Road, those are in private ownership and not owned by the Council. The council received a request in 2014 from the owners of the site for pre-application planning advice regarding the prospect of a new hotel containing 50 bedrooms and a coffee bar. At this time it is unknown at what stage the owners are at for the preparation and submission of any planning application.”
